Description:

SVG is a Hi-Tech power electronic device. Fully programmable controlled, could provide continuous reactive compensation automatically in two-way for inductive and capacitive loads;

No need big capacity capacitors, small-size and lightweight, its modular structure, suit for rack/wall mounted installation; SVG modular also has good flexible and extensible;

Different from SVC, Thyristor Switched Capacitor/TSC generates lots of harmonic disturbance; For SVG, No need filtering;

Up to now, SVG is widely used as the most advanced basic wave reactive power compensator in the world.


SVG Principle

During the SVG operating, the amplitude and phase of DC inverter to AC voltage can be controlled by adjusting the switch of IGBT device in the inverter bridge, Therefore, the whole device is equivalent to a phase modulation power supply. By detecting the reactive power required in the system, it can quickly send reactive power with equal size and opposite phase, realize the local balance of reactive power, and keep the system running with high power factor.

IEEE519-2014 IEEE Recommended Practice and Requirements for Harmonic Control in Electric Powder System;


Product Features: 

  • Continuous reactive compensation automatically in two-way for inductive and capacitive loads;

  • Compensated load range: from capacitive to inductive loads, -1~+1, Power Factor could be up to 0.99 after fully compensation;

  • Suitable for three phase unbalanced compensation, such as electrified railway; By SVG, could balance three phase active and reactive loads;

  • Rapid response for compensation, full response time less than 15ms, dynamic response time less than 50us;

  • No over compensation, no under compensation and no resonance

  • IGBT current source could avoid the system resonance. Capacitors as fixed reactive compensation, when there are harmonics in the system, it is possible to amplify harmonics by parallel resonance. Accidents of capacitor being burnt happen frequently;

  • Durable: The design life is 100000 hours, more than ten years;

  • Low losses and high efficiency;

  • Small-size and lightweight, easy to be installed and transportation.

For 400V Input level, there are three models, and each module compensating capacity is 30Kvar, 50Kvar 75Kvar and 100Kvar.

For 690V Input level, there are four models, and each module compensating capacity is 90Kvar, 180Kvar 270Kvar and 360Kvar.
